Pay Range: Anticipated Hiring Pay Range: $21.25 - $27.88 hourly;
Full Pay Range: $21.25 - $34.50 hourly

Salary is based on the candidates' equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. A higher wage would only be offered based on direct court-related or legal experience (i.e. such as that with a law firm). Additional questions regarding pay can be discussed with HR during the hiring process if you are offered a position. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

Do you pride yourself on your attention to detail? Bring your skills to the Clerk of Superior Court as our Deputy Probate Registrar!

In this role, you will assist the Probate Registrar in the administration of the informal probate process through the review, approval, denial, and processing of probate documents in accordance with statutory requirements.

This position will be working within our Probate division in Downtown Phoenix. It has the opportunity for a flexible/hybrid schedule for up to three days per week after training has been completed.

We Require
  • Three years of experience with at least one year of customer service and two years of clerical/administrative or
  • Two years at Clerk of the Superior Court as a Justice System Clerk or higher
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a closely related field may substitute for up to two years of the required experience
Job Contributions
  • Assists the Probate Registrar in reviewing and approving/denying a variety of legal probate documents, including Applications for Registrar Certificates, Applications for Subsequent Administration, Appointments of Special Administrators, Affidavits for Collection of Real Property, Informal In testates, etc.
  • Processes Ancillary Probate/Proof of Authority documents, Endorsement documents, and Bonds for Issuance of Letters of Appointment
  • Collects statistical data and prepares reports
