Victim Notification Specialist - Vanu
** This recruitment is to fill vacancies on 3rd shift (Grave shift or Night Shift)**
Shift hours available are from 9:30PM to 7:30AM, 4:00pm to 2:00am, or 6:00PM to 4:00AM, weekend work.
Shift differentials pay of up to $1.00/hour on top of your hourly rate for hours worked between 6pm Friday through 6am Monday.

The Victim Notification Specialist - VANU performs specialized clerical work involving various release notifications to victims of crime. This role provides information and responds to inquiries from victims of crime and other agencies, contacts, and processes paperwork related to victim notification. Employees in this classification are expected to exercise considerable care and sound judgment in the release of sensitive information in accordance with state law, court decision or order, and/or Office Policy.

PositionQualifications

- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of general clerical or administrative experience
Other combinations of education or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
- Training that may be provided on-the-job:
Safety;
Payroll; PREA. - Within six (6) months of employment or assignment must train, functionally test and affirm the proficiency of terminal operations to assure compliance with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) CJIS policy and regulations, and successfully retest annually.
- Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

- Exercises independent judgment within legal guidelines, and reads, comprehends and interprets state, county and municipal laws, rules, regulations, MCSO policies and procedures.
- Researches Superior Court systems (ICIS) for all in-custody inmates to interpret and determine the orders of their sentences, and conditions of release.
- Researches the Superior Court Initial Appearance (IA) on-line system, ICIS, and the MCSO Database SHIELD for all detainees to interpret and determine proper hold and/or release orders.
- Responds to inquiries from voice mails received from victims.
- Receives and distributes information and documents from other judicial and law enforcement offices regarding in-custody inmates.
- Monitors and maintains office equipment and supplies.
- Inputs, creates, tracks, and maintains victim notification information.
