The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is dedicated to advancing the field of physical therapy through excellence in education, research, and clinical innovation. Home to Tufts University's four Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs-Boston, Phoenix, Seattle, and Atlanta, the department supports a diverse community of approximately 80 faculty members and 20 staff across multiple campuses. Faculty within the department are engaged in collaborative, impactful research aimed at addressing critical challenges in rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Key areas of focus include developing and evaluating interventions for specialized populations, advancing the science of physical examination and diagnosis, and improving understanding of pain mechanisms to enhance patient outcomes. Through its commitment to scholarship, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences prepares future leaders in physical therapy while contributing meaningful advancements to the profession.
The Program Coordinator, Sr. is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functions of the Doctor of Physical Therapy-Phoenix Program (DPT-Phoenix Program) and primarily supports the Admissions and Clinical Education teams. The Program Coordinator, Sr. coordinates the collecting, maintaining, and reporting of student records, and ensures that records compliance and confidentiality are maintained in all administrative processes. This role works with the DPT Director of Admissions to coordinate the collection, processing, and evaluation of admission applications, and ensures that applicant privacy and confidentiality are maintained in all administrative processes.
This position also works closely with the DPT Program Clinical Education Program Administrator to ensure consistencies in student information, schedules, and clinical education placement information. Obligations of Position:
The Program Coordinator, Sr. for the DPT-Phoenix Program is a hybrid position with faculty who live across the United States. In order to effectively support the program, applicants must be within commuting distance to the Tufts University Phoenix campus as they will be required to work downtown at our office location for designated periods of time. Full-time employment is based on 35 hours per week.
Evening and weekend hours will be occasionally required.
- DA:
Assists the Director of Admissions in the development, execution, management, and yearly analysis of admissions policies and procedures in alignment with the program goals and outcomes. - DCE/ADCE:
Assists the Director and Assistant Director of Clinical Education with ongoing communication between the DPT program and personnel at each clinical education site. - Responds to inquiries related to the DPT Program, answering questions and direct inquiries from prospective students, matriculated students, faculty, and visitors to appropriate entities within the DPT-Phoenix Program. Leads onsite tour for prospective students.
- Plans, creates, and produces a variety of written materials such as forms, correspondence, manuals, invoices, charts, matrices, reports, records, schedules, templates, models, and other documents of similar complexity.
- Provides assistance with the day-to-day administrative functions for the DPT-Phoenix Program.
- Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents data and information, and makes recommendations for the administrative management of the DPT-Phoenix Program, including the development of policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Plans and participates in program events as appropriate (e.g., onsite clinical skills labs, open houses, DPT-Phoenix orientation, career fair, graduation planning events, other networking events).
- Designs, contributes, and manages marketing campaigns that are consistent with Tufts University social media practices in order to promote the program and its upcoming activities/events through social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter).
