Position SummaryAs an Automotive Service Technician for Big O Tires, you will perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Thoroughly inspect vehicles from a safety, reliability and efficiency standpoint and fill out on inspection form or through DVI
- Flat rate job which requires jobs to be done accurately and efficiently and move on to another task while waiting on parts or approval from the customer.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with team.
- Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or any issues that need attention
- Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions
- Must be able to work on all major systems of the vehicle from A/C and brakes to the cooling system. engine, Suspension and steering as well as transmission and maintenance. Transmission and engine remove and replacement
- Hybrid and EV knowledge is preferred.
- Must possess own scan tool and have strong diagnostic skills
- Maintain a clean environment, tools and equipment, using company guidelines
- Know and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Utilize and perform all duties on the company checklists to meet consistent adherence to policies, procedures and expectations
- ASE Certification
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
- Reliable transportation to work
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Ability to use a two-post lift and other common shop machinery including Hunter Alignment Machine
- Capability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Willingness to work with hazardous materials and in outdoor weather conditions
- Complies with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or driving) for up to nine hours per shift
- Ability to move and lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check
