Lube Technician

The Lube Technician is a customer-facing, hands-on team member responsible for performing oil changes, fluid checks, and other basic vehicle maintenance services at Spotless Brands lube centers. This role is critical to deliver quick, quality service and ensure every customer leaves with confidence in their vehicle's care.

Lube Technicians work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are expected to follow all safety and operational procedures. They are also trained to communicate service needs, educate customers on preventative maintenance, and help ensure the overall success of the location through cleanliness, professionalism, and reliable performance.

Essential functions include performing oil and filter changes on a wide variety of vehicles, checking and topping off vehicle fluids, inspecting and replacing basic components, properly using vehicle lift systems, tools, and safety equipment, maintaining accurate service documentation, communicating with customers to explain findings and recommend services, cleaning and maintaining the lube bay area, tools, and equipment, participating in shop maintenance duties, complying with all Spotless Brands policies, procedures, and safety protocols, supporting teammates, and contributing to a positive, efficient team environment.

Education and experience preferred include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior experience in lube services, auto maintenance, or quick oil change environments, being at least 16 years of age, a valid driver's license, completing required training and safety certifications, and passing a background check.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include a basic understanding of automotive systems and routine vehicle maintenance, knowledge of fluid types, filters, and manufacturer maintenance intervals, familiarity with automotive tools and lift safety, strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, basic math and recordkeeping skills, time management, ability to learn quickly, comfort working with vehicles and machinery, capability of multitasking, and a team-oriented, customer-first attitude.

Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand, and move on uneven, moving and/or wet surfaces, stoop, crouch, bend frequently, twist, carry, reach, push, and pull frequently, lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance, work outdoors in all weather conditions, work on your feet in a fast-paced, physically active environment, work in an environment with varying noise levels, use personal protective equipment, and flexibility to work non-traditional hours.
