Position: Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Join us at Chemical Strategies, Inc.! We are seeking an energetic individual to be in a full-time
position that is responsible for procurement and client relations for our Aerospace or Semiconductor clients.

Essential Functions

Buyer/Procurement Specialist compiles data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory; compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist prepares requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items; compares nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns and reduce waste by accurately controlling and tracking physical inventory. Analyzes activities related to inventory purchasing and inventory control by participating in inventory process and daily audits; researches and resolves inventory discrepancies; reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist coordinates and sets up new parts in Chempax utilizing the “New Part Set Up” document.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist coordinates the addition and removal of inventory stock transactions in Chempax as they relate but are not limited to Physical Inventories, Vendor RMA’s and Customer RMA’s.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist works with Supply Chain Manager to perform Annual Physical Inventories for all warehouses.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist issues purchase and work orders to generate product shipments and maintains status of orders through entire process.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist analyze expiring material and prepare reports for sales and customer service for proper planning of sales, returns, disposal, etc.

Buyer/Procurement Specialist performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence; other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.

    A.) from four-year college or university, Or one to two years directly related work experience and/or training, Or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Must write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
