Business Development, Financial Analyst
This position is responsible for preparing and completing all large account Market Baskets on behalf of Shamrock Foods Company for new business opportunities, servicing ongoing customer analyses to ensure competitiveness and company profitability.
Essential Duties- Review all project details, capturing critical information to successfully complete all requests, while working closely with the Sales Team.
- Perform detailed product review, identifying key attributes within product descriptions in order to make decisions on matching comparable items on a large scale.
- Actively manipulate complex excel workbooks to generate, analyze and summarize data for decision making and cost analysis process.
- Effectively manage tight deadlines in a multitasking fast-paced environment, including dashboard tracking maintenance.
- Ability to execute and apply various intricate pricing modules.
- Prepare Market Baskets and Product Rationalizations for all Shamrock locations, working cross functionally with other internal departments, as well as externally with orderly consolidation of data and submitting on time.
- Extensive verbal and written communication internally and externally resulting in implementation of results.
- Effectively negotiate contracts with Vendors to secure pricing on the customers’ behalf.
- Work with Group Purchasing Organizations and understanding all components
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years related experience and training; or five years equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced excel proficiency highly preferred. Experience with advanced formulas (e.g., array formulas, logical functions), data modeling, and scenario analysis.
- A strong background in food service with Market Basket and/or GPO experience is a plus.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
- Must have problem solving skills to navigate through the situation and provide a resolution.
- Must have highly organized, detail oriented, ability to multitask, adaptable, works well in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills.
- Self-starter, as well as the ability to work in a team setting.
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department, which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
