Job Summary

Markade Plumbing is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Purchaser's Assistant to support our Purchasing and Operations teams in the procurement and coordination of materials for commercial plumbing projects. This is an entry‑level, growth‑focused position designed to provide hands‑on exposure to construction purchasing, vendor coordination, material tracking, cost management, and supply chain operations. The right candidate will receive structured training and mentorship, with a clear pathway toward Purchasing Agent, Procurement Specialist, or Operations roles.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, analytical, eager to learn, and interested in building a long‑term career in commercial construction operations.

Key

Job Duties
  • Assist Purchasing Manager with daily procurement and administrative tasks
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to vendors and suppliers
  • Track material orders, delivery schedules, and backorders
  • Maintain organized digital purchasing files within Procore, Excel, and internal systems
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm material needs and timelines
  • Communicate with vendors to verify pricing, availability, and lead times
  • Assist with bid comparison sheets and supplier quote evaluations
  • Monitor material costs and support budget tracking efforts
  • Help resolve delivery discrepancies, damaged goods, and invoice issues
  • Support inventory tracking and warehouse coordination as needed
  • Maintain vendor contact information and purchasing logs
  • Assist with documentation for returns, credits, and warranty claims
  • Participate in internal coordination meetings as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; coursework in supply chain, business, or construction management preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, construction, warehouse operations, or administrative support
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn construction management and purchasing software (Procore, ERP systems, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Comfortable working in both office and warehouse/jobsite settings
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Interest in long‑term career growth within purchasing or operations
