We are currently seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our corporate team in Greenville, SC.
Position Overview
The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a critical role in managing customer accounts, resolving complex AR-related issues, and serving as a trusted point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. This role goes beyond day-to-day customer inquiries and requires sound judgment, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues that impact cash flow and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with AR, billing, collections, and operations leadership. This individual will regularly interact with customers, peers, and management and is expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a senior point of contact for customer inquiries related to accounts receivable, billing, and account maintenance
* Manage and prioritize the AR inbox, ensuring timely responses and adherence to departmental service standards
* Handle escalated or complex customer issues, partnering with AR, billing, collections, and area managers to drive resolution
* Screen and assess customer requests, exercising judgment to route issues appropriately or resolve independently
* Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all customer interactions, account updates, and resolutions
* Complete new client setup, process account changes (addresses, contacts, billing updates), and ensure data accuracy
* Communicate clear and appropriate resolution options to customers in a professional and timely manner
* Monitor service levels and key performance indicators, contributing to continuous improvement efforts
* Provide support and guidance to team members as needed, helping reinforce best practices and consistency
* Perform additional tasks and projects to support the Accounts Receivable and Accounting teams as business needs evolve
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in accounting or finance preferred
* 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, customer account management, or customer service within a corporate environment
* Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, customer service principles, and issue resolution
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and handle sensitive conversations professionally
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong data entry and system navigation skills
* Proficient in relevant computer applications and accounting or ERP systems
* Collaborative team player with the confidence to work cross-functionally and interact with leadership
