This is an onsite position at our campus in Chandler, Arizona. This Project Controls Engineer (PCE) position is part of the Project Controls Group (PCG) organization supporting the Ocotillo Foundry Construction Sourcing (FCS) projects. The PCE is an integral member of a project team that also includes members from the Construction, Procurement, Engineering and Intel Customer organizations.
The PCE is responsible for all cost/estimating/schedule controls for the project to help ensure the project is delivered on time and at the best cost to Intel. This role is one of the few opportunities where Cost Engineers and/or Cost Estimators can both develop and perfect project management skills working with the project team, finance and customer operations personnel as well as external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Cost reporting including commits approval and tracking at the detailed WBS level
- Lead monthly project forecast development, funding requests and reporting
- Enforcing project controls incorporating the schedule, productivity, Earned Value
- Leads the estimate development
- Driving process improvements
- Presenting financial updates to project/senior management with confidence
- Influencing cost reduction cash savings opportunities using financial analysis skills
- Leading and consolidating project Close and POR (Financial Plan of Record) submissions
- Drives cost reduction strategies and interfaces with local levels of management, customer finance and capital finance
- Ensures compliance with reporting standards, local and corporate policies and the integrity of external and internal reporting
- Provides varying levels of advice and cost information to operational business groups or factories to drive the business decision-making process
- Supports business by closing the books, analyzing variances and trends, and developing project forecasts that are consistent with the business objectives of the organization
- Provides information and counsel in the areas of controls/risk management, claims mitigation, budgeting and planning, pricing, cost, marketing strategies, return on investment decisions, and the development of overall business plans and strategies
- Interprets information for and negotiates with clients and customers both internal and external to the organization
- Provides input to management including department heads, operational managers, other departments, and senior management

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience in Capital, OpEx/Spending and FP&A experience or knowledge
- Advanced level Cost Reporting and Project Management Software, P6, MS Excel expertise, Power BI, MS Teams, Finance Systems and Software savviness
- Master or MBA degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Construction Project Controls, Capital, OpEx/Spending and FP&A experience or knowledge
- Application of AI for process and execution efficiencies
