Senior Procurement Specialist
A leading global organization in the healthcare technology space is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support strategic sourcing and supplier management initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization secures high-quality goods and services at competitive costs while maintaining compliance in a regulated environment. This position can work out of office locations in either Los Angeles, CA (north suburb) or Phoenix, AZ. This position is open due to internal promotion.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet standards for cost, quality, delivery, and reliability
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage supplier selection processes
- Negotiate complex purchasing agreements, contracts, and pricing structures
- Evaluate sales and promotional opportunities to drive cost savings
- Ensure supplier products and services meet required specifications and quality standards
- Manage high-impact and complex procurement activities with significant business implications
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery timelines, and service levels
- Collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed organization to support business objectives
- Execute strategic sourcing projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed - Adapt procurement strategies to meet evolving business needs and market conditions
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management
- At least 3 years of experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, medical devices, aerospace, energy / utilities, etc.)
- Strong experience with procurement and sourcing systems/tools (8+ years preferred)
Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier agreements and contracts - Deep understanding of contract management principles and supplier relationship management
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through
Additional:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 20%, including occasional international travel
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $150-180K (negotiable depending on background / experience)
- Annual Bonus: 15%
- Eligible for RSU / stock awards
