Verco Decking Inc., a division of Nucor Corporation, is currently seeking applicants for a Purchasing Coordinator located in Phoenix, AZ. The purchasing coordinator position offers growth opportunities within Nucor.

Responsibilities encompass communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and teammates; executing purchase orders for suppliers; performing steel checks daily and verifying inventory coverage; managing daily inventory cycles; preparing inventory packages for leadership; assisting with steel invoice approvals; reporting and following up on inventory issues; supporting the team and other departments as needed.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Purchasing or similar experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong commitment to safety in all job aspects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail; maintain accuracy and timeliness in all tasks
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
• Problem solving and pursuit of results
• Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities and challenges

• Experience with SAP
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
