Strategic Sourcing Specialist Principal
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist Principal, you will be responsible for executive supplier relationships with suppliers with significant annual spend. You are accountable for direct material productivity, working capital (payment terms, pay cycle, VMI), contract negotiations, dual sourcing and HGR penetration, and the overall performance of each supplier.
You will own the strategic business plan for your scope of business and connect it cross-functionally across all internal Client organizations. This role drives executive Gold Business Enterprise (GBE) relationship collaboration, leads cross-functional Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), fosters a Cost Management (CM) and Growth Management (GM) mindset, and supports team development through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management.
Candidates can be based in Phoenix, Tempe, or Tucson, AZ, as well as other Client Aerospace locations within the U.S. This role follows a hybrid work schedule (3 or more days per week in the office) and candidates must live and work within a supported Client Aerospace geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain executive-level supplier relationships
- Drive direct material productivity through cost savings initiatives
- Manage working capital, including optimization of payment terms, pay cycle, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
- Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions
- Implement dual sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risk and improve supplier performance
- Drive High Growth Region (HGR) penetration by identifying and leveraging market opportunities
- Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned across Client organizations
- Foster executive Gold Business Enterprise (GBE) collaboration
- Lead cross-functional Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to evaluate supplier performance
- Promote a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture with CM/GM principles
- Mentor and develop team members
- Manage team metrics and performance tracking
- Lead organizational improvement initiatives

YOU MUST HAVE
- 9+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Sourcing/Procurement
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
