National Accounts Manager; West Coast - Renovations

Job Summary:

Build relationships and develop plans to increase sales and profitability for targeted national accounts and make purchasing decisions. Drive sales by creating, executing and communicating business plans to grow sales for the organization.

Vehicle requirement:
Operation of a personal vehicle at least 20% of the average work week. MVR report required.

• Develop and maintain business relationships.
• Strategically plan customer visits to cultivate relationships, perform presentations, offer innovative programs and communicate plans.
• Research, develop, and acquire account opportunities.
• Effectively communicate competitive strengths and develop strategy to acquire competitive business.
• Develop and execute profitable business plans for managing existing and newly acquired accounts and implement those plans effectively.
• Negotiate national contracts and rebate programs consistent with industry management goals.
• Collaborate with sales and other key corporate personnel to communicate account plans, pricing, and offer assistance to drive sales.
• Participate in local and national trade associations and conferences.

• Identify key barriers/core problems and apply problem solving skills to deal creatively with complex situations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
• Make decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

• Independently perform assignments with instruction limited to expected results.
• Determine and develop an approach to solutions.
• Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems or issues.
• May oversee completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy of work, and evaluating results.
• Contribute to employees’ professional development; no hiring or firing authority.

Work location:

Comfortable indoor area. Most of the time spent sitting, with frequent opportunities to move. Rare occasions may require moving or lifting light articles. Overnight travel required more than 50% of the time.

• BS/BA in a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience in a related field, or MS/MA and 3-5 years of experience.
• Certification required in some areas.
• Must be a resident of CA, CO, CT, D.C., HI, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OH, RI, VT, WA.
