Project Overview
We are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil projects and are looking for motivated, hands‑on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects are hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings.
Job SummaryManages and performs all activities associated with formation, tendering, award and administration of moderately complex contract packages for the project, including bidder prequalification, bid solicitation, bid analysis, negotiation and execution of contracts, administration and close‑out, with accountability for work product to project milestones, quality and safety standards.
Major Responsibilities- Develop and issue contracts and service agreements, including forming Request for Tender (RFT) packages.
- Issue bid request packages to approved bidders and prepare evaluation criteria for project team approval.
- Arrange and respond to tenderers’ questions (RFIs).
- Receive tenders and manage commercial evaluations.
- Prepare commercial bid summary and overall recommendation to award the subject contract.
- Prepare contract documents and maintain control and status reporting documents.
- Organize tenderer meetings/workshops such as bid clarification and pre‑award meetings to ensure complete understanding of contractual matters.
- Conduct meetings and issue meeting notes with important statements, required actions, and schedules; post‑award administer assignments, maintaining review of progress and reporting financial or technical difficulties to management.
- Coordinate with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights, obligations, performance, and administration.
- Administer moderately complex contract changes by negotiating with contractor and customer personnel and obtaining settlement.
- Lead resolution of moderate‑complex contractual discussions.
- Ensure mutual understanding of contract terms and conditions.
- Support preparation of periodic status reports for management.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10‑13 years of relevant experience, or 14‑17 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling.
- Thorough knowledge of contract formation and administration.
- Extensive knowledge of contract management and negotiations gained through education or experience.
- Knowledge of when to engage legal counsel.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations, and company policies, procedures and work practices.
- Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups.
