Job Description Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or equivalent; prefer three to five years related payroll experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of payroll principles and practices. Prefer fluent Spanish speaking, reading and writing.

Reports To

Payroll Supervisor

Job Goal

Maintains employee time keeping for the purpose of payroll. Audits and verifies electronic payroll documents and timesheets, and assures the accuracy and timeliness of all time‑keeping activities.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Manages approval structure in automated time‑keeping system.
  • Enters and maintains employee time keeping.
  • Audits and prepares data for payroll processing.
  • Ensures employees and supervisors properly submit time‑keeping data in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes time‑keeping documents, and related transactions in compliance with all applicable District, State, and Federal regulations and policies.
  • Establishes and maintains records, reports of employee accruals, compensated time and overtime.
  • Records adjustments to pay related errors or issues.
  • Maintains district time‑keeping electronic files.
  • Prepares specialized reports and analyses of time‑keeping records.
  • Provides support and training for school office personnel on proper employee time‑keeping processes and procedures.
  • Serves as a resource for district and school site staff in the area of time‑keeping procedures and processes.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, accounting software, automated time‑keeping software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
  • The ability to type 40 wpm.
  • The ability to successfully perform ten‑key functions.
  • Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
  • Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

  • Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
