Position: Athletic Event Coordinator I

Grand Canyon University’s Event Services is seeking an Athletics Event Services Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/

Essential Functions:
  • Preplan for upcoming events as necessary.
  • Attend planning and organizing event meetings to obtain information, activities and details for specific events.
  • Plan for and execute all logistical arrangements and maintain communications with appropriate staff regarding progress, including:
    • Ensure coordination of activities with other on‑campus departments such as facilities, janitorial services, food services, etc.
    • Setting up the venue with displays, tables, chairs, audio‑visual equipment, photography/video, catering, special needs accommodations, etc.
    • Ensuring an adequate inventory of needed supplies.
    • Requesting and ensuring adequate student worker staff is scheduled for all phases of the event.
    • Breaking or tearing down event displays and set ups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

None

Experience / Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a discipline related to communications, marketing, promotions, or a similar program from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar or related capacity, including experience in an overnight camp environment, youth camp, event planning, promotions, etc.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must work varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends, and be willing to stay overnight on campus during certain events.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment background investigation.
