Grand Canyon University is a private, nondenominational Christian university located in the Valley of the Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. The Athletic Department is dedicated to helping student‑athletes achieve excellence and personal growth through intercollegiate sports.
What you will do:- Develop an operating plan to manage all operational functions required for home sports contests or events.
- Coordinate with visiting teams, officials, and internal departments to gather needs, set up facilities, and distribute credentials.
- Create and maintain activity game‑day timelines and attend all preseason operations meetings and game‑day production meetings.
- Monitor and track game and practice schedules, coordinating communication with public safety, facilities, and other campus units.
- Plan and execute operational strategies for all championship events hosted at GCU.
- Serve as the primary daily liaison between athletics, NCAA or conference partners, campus events, facilities, and the GCU arena.
- Conduct physical inspections of athletic facilities and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades with vendors.
- Assist in operational budget planning, reconcile and manage monthly expenses, and handle related administrative duties such as purchasing and work orders.
- Recruit, schedule, approve timecards, and train student workers who assist with athletic facilities operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in NCAA DivisionI athletic facilities and operations or a minimum of two years’ experience in other NCAA divisions or NAIA athletic and facilities functions.
- Ability to pass background investigations and a clear, valid driver's license.
