Position Overview

As a Business Continuity Specialist within PNC's Technology Security and Resilience organization, you will be based in either Phoenix, AZ or Pittsburgh, PA. The role is an individual contributor focused on quality monitoring, incident assessment, and comprehensive event response.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and monitor quality assessments for day‑to‑day incidents and large‑scale events, including technology, civil, political, economic, and natural hazards.
  • Analyze risks, develop response plans, and coordinate resources to mitigate impact on people, property and customers.
  • Provide 24/7 support coordination and real‑time incident triage for enterprise‑level events such as technology disruptions, life‑safety emergencies, and operational hazards.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Event Management and cross‑functional teams to advance program objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead resource coordination aligned with designated response plans for large business segments or groups.
  • Execute and improve the full lifecycle of crisis management, emergency management, contingency planning, and disaster preparedness.
  • Participate in lifecycle planning activities including business impact analysis, risk assessment, recovery planning, and testing.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness and threat monitoring across all hazards and intelligence sources.
Job Description
  • Assist in developing business continuity and disaster recovery plans; oversee testing, emergency response, and recovery activities.
  • Support business recovery, crisis management, emergency management, and contingency planning throughout the continuity lifecycle.
  • Communicate and maintain the business continuity lifecycle, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on business continuity process compliance, readiness, events, and exercise results.
  • Develop, enhance, and disseminate continuity processes and standards; support training delivery.
Qualifications
  • University or college degree with 2+ years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience).
  • Strong engineering mindset; knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and incident response.
  • Excellent communication, decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑moving environment.

Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university or college degree and a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. A comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
