Position: Project Scheduler - Primavera P6 / Phoenix AZ (Hybrid)

Mountain West Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to lead high-impact infrastructure and energy projects across the Phoenix Metro Area. This hands-on leadership role drives safety, cost control, and schedule excellence for complex mechanical construction initiatives, ensuring projects finish on time and on budget.

Job Purpose

To enhance customer experience and operational efficiency by applying top-notch organizational and problem-solving skills to project schedule development and control.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Monitor project progress, analyze trends, and identify critical-path bottlenecks
  • Identify risks, communicate them clearly to all stakeholders, and implement mitigation plans
  • Prepare status presentations highlighting accomplishments, risks, and changes
  • Generate custom reports (look-ahead, variance, progress, milestone) to facilitate discussions
  • Support project managers and project-controls managers, including field coordination and sub-project management
  • Track deliverables and monitor physical percent complete by installed quantities
  • Optimize processes for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including document filing
  • Foster ongoing learning by seeking functional knowledge and developing technical expertise
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold the company’s core values
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team and company objectives

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in project scheduling or a related project-controls role
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks, and work independently
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Successful completion of state/federal background check and drug screening
  • Experience in cost planning and project-controls reporting interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • PMP® or similar project-management certification
  • Previous exposure to power generation, oil, gas, or energy-sector construction projects
