The Business Operations Analyst, Senior, or Consultant helps ensure the effective operation of APS facilities and real estate business functions by improving processes, analyzing data, and supporting technology solutions that enhance business performance. This role brings together people, systems, and information to identify opportunities for improvement, solve complex business challenges, and support informed decision-making. By driving operational effectiveness and continuous improvement, this position helps APS deliver reliable service to customers and communities across Arizona.
WhatYour Day Would Be Like
Partner with Facilities and Real Estate teams to support capital projects, workplace initiatives, property management activities, and strategic facility planning that improve operational effectiveness and employee experience.
- Analyze operational data and business processes to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Lead or contribute to projects focused on process enhancements, system improvements, and technology optimization.
- Develop meaningful reports and dashboards that provide accurate insights for decision-making and business planning.
- Ensure business systems, data, and reporting processes support compliance, security, and operational excellence.
- Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and business insights.
- Experience analyzing business operations, processes, systems, and performance data to drive improvements (ideally in facilities and real estate).
- Knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to leverage technology to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Proven ability to lead or contribute to cross-functional projects involving process or system enhancements.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the presence and leadership ability to influence stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and delivering results.
Business Operations Analyst
- BS/BA equivalency or an equivalent combination of four (4) years relevant business work experience and relevant college coursework in business, information technology or a related area.
- PLUS two (2) years of progressively responsible experience where general knowledge and understanding of business unit operations, business unit systems, and basic knowledge of database design, structure, functions and processes and experience with database tools has been obtained.
Business Operations Analyst, Senior
- BS/BA equivalency or an equivalent combination of four (4) years relevant work experience and relevant college coursework in business, information technology or a related area.
- PLU
S five (5) years of progressively responsible experience where a strong understanding of business unit operations, business unit systems, database design, structure, functions and work processes and experience with database tools has been obtained.
Business Operations Consultant
- BS/BA equivalency or an equivalent combination of four (4) years relevant work experience and relevant college coursework in business, information technology or a related area.
- PLU
S eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience where a strong understanding of business unit operations, business unit systems, database design, structure, functions and work processes and experience with database tools has been obtained.
Additional:
- Previous experience with the systems specific to the business area may also be required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of business processes and operational knowledge including functions, procedures, processes, and computer systems.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities, gaps, data analysis and recommended solutions which tie functional needs to technology solutions.
- Demonstrated project/team experience and ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to review data, see relationships and patterns, as well as possess strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience in managing projects and identifying and resolving issues.
- Expertise in PC applications including advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word.
- Requires proficient knowledge of emerging practices and technologies used within the business area.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and standards impacting business areas.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.
