Summary

Candidates are responsible for providing quality childcare and instruction in a Child Care setting and adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.

• Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotion growth
• Monitors children's behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom
• Assists with clean‑up and other related tasks following daily activities
• Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials
• Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies
• May attend in‑service training sessions
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
• Follows all AZDHS licensing regulations

Must have all qualifications prior to entry:

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
• Fingerprint card, TB test
• First Aid/CPR (required after hire)
• Food Handlers Card

Physical Requirements:

• Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
• Incumbents may be subjected to blood and other body fluids
• Medium Work:
  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
