About the RoleThe Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground manages two to four crews of crew leaders or foremen, overseeing repetitive work assignments within a Superintendent structure. Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, ensuring productivity goals are met, communicating with city inspectors and external customers, maintaining safety and production records, and completing as‑builds.
Responsibilities- Oversee and lead crews in meeting daily production goals and maintaining production records.
- Coordinate with the direct manager to invoice jobs timely per company policy and area goals.
- Ensure all company safety policies, OSHA, DOT, and special project requirements are compliant.
- Conduct all accident investigations, including job damage, employee injury, and vehicle incidents.
- Attend all safety meetings with assigned crews.
- Attend in‑house and outsourced training as per company policy.
- Co‑operate with the Superintendent on property owner complaints and investigate them personally.
- Ensure 100% adherence to all company safety policies.
- Communicate equipment needs (repair, maintenance, rental) to direct manager.
- Maintain trucks and equipment in clean condition.
- Responsible for staffing, training, and performance of employees; work with Human Resources for recruitment, onboarding, coaching, discipline, and termination.
- Consult the direct manager before ordering or procuring new material.
- Interface with customers frequently to discuss needs and jobs.
- Complete a total of 8 JSO’s, including auditing direct reporting crews.
- Perform daily DVIRs when required.
- Ensure assigned fleet is gate‑checked within a 45‑day time frame.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Pass background check and company drug screening.
- Attend and pass all required company training.
- Valid State driver’s license (non‑provisional) with acceptable driving record.
- 5–10 years experience in telecommunications or utility construction.
- Proven leadership experience guiding employees toward high‑quality results and teamwork.
- Combination of education and/or experience demonstrating ability to perform job duties.
- Ability to understand and execute written, oral, or drawing instructions and solve problems involving employees, customers, vendors, and the public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic mathematics, and some accounting principles.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine manuals, and process procedures, and to write reports.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Work after hours, on weekends, or be on‑call as needed to ensure job completion.

- Work in moderate noise environment and expose to outside weather (heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, etc.).
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, airborne pathogens, chemicals, moving machinery, and vision demands.
The annual wage range is $70,000 – $92,000, depending on experience.
