Commercial Construction Estimator

Position Summary:

Responsible for estimation and takeoffs of plumbing, HVAC including sheet metal and/or commercial GC work. The individual should have a good understanding of all aspects of estimating for mechanical contracting and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, designers, owners, and job-site personnel.

• Reading and understanding project specifications and drawings.
• Provide project material takeoffs and pricing.
• Attends project site surveys and walks.
• Ability to obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Must stay current with all estimating software and attend training as needed and/or required.
• Ensures smooth and timely estimates.
• All other duties as assigned.

• 10+ years of Plumbing and Mechanical background
• Experience with Fast Est Estimating software.
• 5+ years of estimating Commercial Construction in Phoenix.
• Self-Motivated and highly driven.

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Knowledge of general plumbing, piping, sheet metal, HVAC, and Commercial Construction.
• Good math ability.
• Good computer skills (knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook).
• Detail Oriented.
• Good time management.
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
• Bluebeam experience preferred.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required.
• Journeyman of Plumber license or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman Fire Protection license or equivalent experience.

• Capable of job site tours, climbing ladders and on/off equipment, etc.

• Required to work onsite within office location.
