Position Summary:
Responsible for estimation and takeoffs of plumbing, HVAC including sheet metal and/or commercial GC work. The individual should have a good understanding of all aspects of estimating for mechanical contracting and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, designers, owners, and job-site personnel.
- Reading and understanding project specifications and drawings.
- Provide project material takeoffs and pricing.
- Attends project site surveys and walks.
- Ability to obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Must stay current with all estimating software and attend training as needed and/or required.
- Ensures smooth and timely estimates.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 10+ years of Plumbing and Mechanical background
- Experience with Fast Est Estimating software.
- 5+ years of estimating Commercial Construction in Phoenix.
- Self-Motivated and highly driven.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Knowledge of general plumbing, piping, sheet metal, HVAC, and Commercial Construction.
- Good math ability.
- Good computer skills (knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook).
- Detail Oriented.
- Good time management.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Bluebeam experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required.
- Journeyman of Plumber license or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman Fire Protection license or equivalent experience.
- Capable of job site tours, climbing ladders and on/off equipment, etc.
- Required to work onsite within office location.
