Field Engineer position at PCL Constructors Inc. in Phoenix, AZ.

• Mentor and lead inspections and orientations, identify hazards and corrections, and lead by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
• Coordinate with superintendent on workforce planning.
• Maintain project document control and procedures. Support project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
• Participate in the supervision of self‑perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
• Mentor and coach field engineers and students/interns.
• Identify issues on‑site or in defined work scopes.
• Coordinate third‑party inspections and site reviews.
• Participate in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Develop and maintain positive relationships focusing on all partners.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 8‑12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; internships may count as experience.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self‑perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
• Understand and apply construction principles to problem‑solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and generate reports.
• Proven track record of working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Write clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Develop and maintain effective partner relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction‑related software.
