We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects throughout the Phoenix, AZ market. This role will assist in managing project planning, coordination, documentation, budgeting, and communication between field teams, subcontractors, consultants, and ownership groups.

The ideal candidate has experience in commercial construction (ground-up or tenant improvement) and is looking to grow into a Project Manager role.

Responsibilities
  • Support Project Manager in overall project execution from preconstruction through closeout
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors
  • Track project progress and help maintain schedule updates
  • Assist in procurement of materials and subcontractor buyout
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for scope clarity
  • Help manage project documentation in Procore or similar platforms
  • Support pay applications, invoicing, and cost reporting
  • Attend OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings and take meeting minutes
  • Assist in resolving field issues and coordinating solutions with the Superintendent
  • Maintain logs for submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and company standards
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction or construction management
  • Experience in commercial ground-up or tenant improvement projects preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and scheduling tools preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
