Pavement Marking LLC is hiring an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for pavement marking and roadway projects. This role is critical to our success ensuring projects are properly scoped, priced, and positioned to win.
You’ll work closely with our Lead Estimator, Operations, and Project Management teams to develop detailed estimates that reflect real‑world conditions and company capabilities.
What You’ll Do Estimating & Bidding- Review plans, specs, and addenda to fully understand project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment)
- Prepare and submit complete bids on time
- Analyze risks, constraints, and special requirements
- Solicit and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Use estimating software (B2W Heavy Bid)
- Partner with Operations for smooth project handoff
- Assist with scheduling, resource planning, and material forecasting
- Communicate scope, assumptions, and key details clearly
- Track bid results and analyze performance
- Identify trends and improve estimating processes
- Build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and DOT agencies
- Represent the company professionally in meetings and communications
- Maintain accurate estimate files and documentation
- Follow company procedures for contracts, purchasing, and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of estimating experience (construction, highway, or pavement marking)
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Experience with B2W Heavy Bid or similar software is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple bids in a deadline‑driven environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
