Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator for our Heavy Civil Construction division. This is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in self-perform construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for our heavy civil construction projects, including underground utilities, site work, drainage, and roadway construction. Your expertise in HCSS, Microsoft Project, value engineering, blueprint reading, project estimation, and negotiation will be key to your success in this role.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on self-perform work.
A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Skilled using HCSS
Proven expertise in estimating costs for underground utilities, site work, drainage, and roadway construction.
Strong knowledge of contract management principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar project management software.
Solid understanding of value engineering principles and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms and prices.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and estimates.
