Data Centers / Design-Build Construction

Phoenix, AZ

Due to continued growth, my client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale data center construction projects across one of their key U.S. markets, Phoenix. This individual will play a critical role in coordinating design, engineering, procurement, trade partner management, project controls, financial performance, safety, quality, and overall project execution.

My client operates as a fully integrated design-build contractor, delivering end-to-end solutions across construction, professional services, specialty equipment, and real estate. This integrated delivery model allows the business to support clients through every phase of a project, from design and preconstruction through procurement, construction, commissioning support, and final closeout.

The project portfolio includes technically complex work across data centers, advanced technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, and distribution markets. These projects often involve fast-paced schedules, sophisticated design and engineering coordination, major procurement packages, trade partner oversight, customer-facing communication, and detailed execution planning.

This opportunity is being handled confidentially, and further company, project, team structure, location, and compensation details will be shared with qualified candidates at the appropriate stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful delivery of data center construction projects from design coordination, procurement, and preconstruction through field execution, closeout, and turnover
  • Coordinate interrelated activities between trade partners, suppliers, vendors, customers, design teams, engineering teams, and internal project stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance, including budget tracking, forecasting, billings, cost control, and project status reporting
  • Support subcontract and contract administration, including trade partner scope review, contract negotiation, payment applications, change order evaluation, and risk mitigation
  • Purchase, coordinate, and monitor delivery of required materials, ensuring alignment with pricing, quality, specifications, and schedule requirements
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation to ensure compliance with scope, design intent, technical requirements, and customer expectations
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure projects are designed, procured, and constructed within operating guidelines while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Prepare, organize, and present key project reports, including progress updates, schedule analysis, billing reports, monthly project reviews, status reports, and other project management documentation
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce safety and quality programs on site
  • Supervise project support team members and coordinate subcontractor performance to ensure successful delivery of assigned scopes
  • Represent the business professionally with customers, trade partners, vendors, design partners, and internal leadership teams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of construction management experience, ideally with previous experience supporting projects as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager
  • Strong preference for experience within data center, advanced technology, manufacturing, distribution, industrial, food and beverage, or technically complex commercial construction
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of construction operations, project coordination, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, safety, quality, and documentation
  • Experience coordinating trade partners, vendors, suppliers, design teams, engineering teams, and owner/client stakeholders
  • Ability to review and manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, schedules, project reports, and contract documentation
  • Ability to support fast-paced project environments with multiple stakeholders, technical scopes,…
