Commissioning Manager – Mission Critical Data Centers

Locations:
Phoenix, AZ

Our client is a well-capitalised developer and operator of mission-critical infrastructure delivering large-scale data center campuses for enterprise and hyperscale customers across North America. With several major developments currently underway, they're looking to strengthen their commissioning team with an experienced Commissioning Manager.

This is an opportunity to join a business delivering some of the region's largest and most technically advanced data center projects while working within a collaborative, high-performing construction team.

The Opportunity

You’ll oversee commissioning activities across multiple active projects, working closely with construction, design, contractors, commissioning agents and operations teams to ensure critical systems are successfully tested, validated and handed over.

The successful candidate can be based in Arizona but may be supporting projects across Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Jose

Projects include the delivery of multiple mission-critical facilities, each comprising approximately 50MW with four individual data halls, providing exposure to complex, large-scale commissioning programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead commissioning from design review through integrated systems testing and final handover.
  • Coordinate commissioning agencies, contractors, consultants and internal project teams.
  • Develop and manage commissioning schedules and project documentation.
  • Review MEP design packages to ensure systems are fully commissionable.
  • Oversee pre-functional, functional and integrated systems testing.
  • Manage commissioning issue logs through to resolution.
  • Work closely with construction and operations teams to achieve successful project turnover.
  • Monitor commissioning progress against programme milestones.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety, quality and operational requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior project stakeholders.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience managing commissioning on commercial or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Previous data center commissioning experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of critical MEP systems and commissioning processes.
  • Experience working alongside commissioning agencies and managing the commissioning programme rather than specialising in a single discipline.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable travelling regularly between active project sites.
What's On Offer
  • $150,000-$180,000 base salary, with additional flexibility for outstanding candidates.
  • Performance bonus of up to 15%.
  • Employer-funded medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer contribution.
  • Paid Time Off and sick leave.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in delivering multiple large-scale data center campuses across the Southwest and California.
