The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the execution of site‑specific activities that ensure successful project completion. Duties include scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, scope creation and management, and inventory control. The role requires a hands‑on approach to problem solving, fostering teamwork, and maintaining open communication with field personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise all construction‑related activities for the entire project.
- Communicate with the Project Management Team to support overall project success.
- Direct field personnel to achieve completion on schedule, within budget, and with quality craftsmanship.
- Prepare and maintain the project schedule and supervise through final completion.
- Identify potential issues, solve problems, and provide realistic solutions to maintain the construction schedule.
- Inspect or direct inspection of all contracted work to ensure compliance with contract agreements and local jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule all required municipal inspections.
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise all required utility companies.
- Coordinate site testing and inspections as agreed with Owners.
- Work with Project Engineer(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure materials are reserved and coordinate deliveries with suppliers.
- Maintain positive relationships with Garrett Companies personnel, the entire design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and municipal representatives.
- Promote job‑site safety, encourage safe work practices, and correct any hazards immediately.
- Demonstrate commitment to an injury‑free environment through personal actions and mentorship.
- Prepare and submit daily reports documenting weather, field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress, and any impact on the project, as well as accident, quality reports, and more.
- Coordinate weekly subcontractor meetings.
- Provide two‑week progress reports bi‑weekly to the Project Management Team.
- Attend and help run monthly progress meetings with the Project Management Team and all applicable subcontractors.
- Provide training and education to field personnel as needed.
- Maintain an organized job site and on‑site office.
- Foster a positive work environment for professional growth and development.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- 3+ years of progressive field experience managing multifamily construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, codes, inspections, and utility coordination; proficiency with project management software such as Procore, MS Project, or similar.
- Proven ability to supervise field staff and subcontractors, run progress meetings, and foster a safe, positive, and professional work environment.
- Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions on schedule and budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing daily/weekly reports, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining positive relationships with owners, contractors, and municipalities.

This is a field‑based position supporting local projects.
Initial Training and Orientation- Standard company orientation in Indianapolis.
