OverviewThe Safety Advisor is a field-based safety professional responsible for supporting and enhancing CS Construction’s safety culture through visible field presence, coaching, training, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners with supervisors, foremen, and crews to strengthen safe execution through field presence, coaching, training, high-quality documentation, follow-up, and support. This role does not lead people, but leads by influence, being accountable, supporting others, and setting the right example.
Responsibilities- Conduct strategic job site visits, safety observations, and Critical Behavior Observations; provide timely coaching and feedback.
- Track, follow up, and verify closure of corrective actions from observations, incidents, and audits.
- Support accurate and prompt incidents and near-miss investigation, communication, reporting, documentation, development and sharing of timely lessons learned.
- Review & collaborate with team on Safety Task Analysis, other critical safety activities for quality and completeness; deliver positive, constructive feedback, and support.
- Facilitate and/or deliver scheduled and ad hoc safety training and toolbox talks.
- Partner with HR to conduct effective New Hire Safety Orientation and onboarding.
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and OSHA compliance support.
- Support fleet, equipment, DVIR, and PPE compliance activities.
- Participate in Safety Meetings and Safety Task Force activities.
- Act as a visible safety resource reinforcing company values and the Safety Program.
- High School Diploma required; associate’s degree in safety or related field preferred.
- Construction safety experience of 2 or more years, required.
- OSHA 30 required (or attainable within onboarding period).
- CPR / First Aid / AED preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, training, education and coaching skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
