An established Civil Infrastructure Contractor is in search of a dedicated Civil Project Engineer to join its expanding Civil Division. The perfect candidate will assist project teams in the efficient and cost-effective completion of infrastructure projects, maintaining alignment with safety, schedule, and budget objectives.
Position SummaryThe Civil Project Engineer is a key support to Project Managers and Superintendents across all construction phases. This role entails managing documentation, keeping accurate schedules, aiding in estimating and change orders, and ensuring effective coordination between field operations and project management.
Key Responsibilities- Update and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Create detailed Primavera (P6) project schedules and corresponding financial reports.
- Attend and record pre-construction, planning, and weekly coordination meetings, distributing updates and meeting minutes to project teams.
- Support with job cost tracking, identifying and rectifying discrepancies.
- Prepare and manage change orders, back charges, and force account documentation.
- Contribute to project closeout activities, including quantity take-offs, as-built drawings, and cost history input.
- Assist in progress billing and monthly project estimates.
- Attend agency meetings and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor field progress and support operations.
- Collaborate with estimating and field teams to ensure project precision and efficiency.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure construction for roads, earthwork, grading, paving, or wastewater.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Primavera (Sure Trak or P6) software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and governmental regulations.
- Works accurately and meticulously under time constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
