Construction Superintendent
Manage day-to-day construction operations for Water and Wastewater projects. Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to design specifications. Manage and direct subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel. Coordinate with the General Contractor, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Review project plans, submittals, and schedules to monitor progress and identify potential delays. Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent disruptions to construction activities.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications. Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-site safety procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture. Maintain clear communication regarding project status, challenges, schedule changes, and field issues. Resolve field conflicts and construction issues efficiently to minimize delays. Support pre-construction activities including submittals, subcontracting, estimating, and scheduling.
Manage project change orders, including pricing, execution of work, and issuing change orders to subcontractors. Monitor project schedules and coordinate manpower and resources to maintain project progress. Work closely with project management and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction. Experience with Water and Wastewater construction projects preferred. Experience with underground industrial construction is a plus. Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and applicable building codes. Proven ability to oversee large-scale construction projects from start to finish. Experience managing subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, project specifications, and schedules.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project. OSHA certification required. High school diploma required; construction management degree or related certification preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
