Director Of Operations

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Director of Operations, your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide operational leadership across multiple construction projects.
  • Drive project execution, financial performance, schedule, safety, quality, and staffing.
  • Lead and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, and emerging leaders.
  • Oversee manpower and equipment planning.
  • Review project cost and revenue projections and support company forecasting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Support preconstruction, business development, proposals, and project closeout.
  • Review and negotiate change orders and mitigate project risks.
  • Resolve complex operational and contractual issues.
  • Partner with company leadership to support continued business growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Director of Operations who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Director of Operations would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience.
  • Extensive Heavy Civil construction experience.
  • CMAR and Design-Build experience.
  • Experience with airports, transportation, box culverts, bridges, and structural concrete.
  • Strong project financial management and monthly forecasting experience.
  • Experience leading multiple construction projects and teams.
  • Strong cost control, scheduling, change management, and risk management capabilities.
  • Experience developing and mentoring Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Business development and preconstruction experience.
  • Strong client relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with HCSS, Primavera, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
