Asphalt Paving SuperintendentPosition Summary
Oversees and coordinates all aspects of municipal and highway paving projects. This position manages daily work schedules, paving crews, and equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership and quality control oversight
Key Responsibilities- Project Management:
Plan, schedule, and execute paving operations while tracking daily quantities, project costs, and materials. - Crew Leadership:
Supervise working foremen and field personnel, ensuring compliance with both company standards and project specifications. - Safety & Quality Control:
Enforce OSHA regulations on the job site and monitor asphalt mix designs, testing, and layout.
Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact between project managers, estimators, contractors, and inspectors.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 6+ years of experience in heavy road construction and asphalt paving.
Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour certification is required.
Technical
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manage labor costs, and operate specialized paving machinery.
Licenses: A valid AZ driver's license (with an acceptable driving record) is required.
