Chief Estimator

We are seeking a Chief Estimator to lead our estimating department for our site development and civil infrastructure projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of estimating experience with a strong background in site development
, including grading, earthwork, and excavation
, as well as underground wet utilities (
water line installation, storm drainage systems, and sanitary sewer construction
.

As a natural leader and mentor
, the Chief Estimator will provide guidance and professional development to junior estimators, establish estimating best practices, and foster a collaborative, high-performing estimating team.

• Overseeing all preconstruction and estimating activities
• Developing accurate and competitive bids
• Reviewing plans and specifications in relation to site development and utilities
• Training and managing a team of estimators and takeoff technicians
• Managing quantity takeoffs
• Evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing, while collaborating with operations
• Lead strategic bid reviews, identify project risks and value engineering opportunities

• 8+ years of estimating experience within civil construction
• Experience with site development
  , including grading and earthwork projects
• Strong estimating background in underground wet utilities
  , including water, storm drainage, and sanitary sewer installation
• Expert-level proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid and other HCSS estimating software (required)
• Proven ability to lead estimating teams, mentor junior estimators, and manage multiple concurrent pursuits
• Demonstrated success delivering accurate, competitive estimates for public and private heavy civil projects
