Join our client’s Phoenix team as an Estimator / Account Manager responsible for estimating stair and related construction packages while maintaining relationships with existing customers and supporting business development.
The ideal candidate has residential construction estimating experience, preferably with major home builders, and can read plans, perform takeoffs, calculate material and labor requirements, and develop accurate pricing. Stair experience is highly preferred, but experience with cabinets, flooring, millwork, trim, finished carpentry, building materials, or related construction will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Review architectural plans, specifications, and builder requirements.
- Perform material and quantity takeoffs and develop accurate estimates.
- Calculate material, labor, installation, and project costs.
- Prepare proposals and quotes for customers.
- Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost issues.
- Update estimates based on plan revisions and project changes.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, operations, and installation teams.
- Maintain accurate estimating and pricing records.
- Manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Build and maintain relationships with home-builder and construction customers.
- Respond to customer questions regarding pricing, scope, materials, and scheduling.
- Support new business opportunities with existing and prospective builders.
- Participate in customer meetings, builder visits, and presentations.
- 3-7+ years of estimating experience in residential construction, building products, or a related trade.
- Experience working with major home builders strongly preferred.
- Experience reading construction plans and performing takeoffs.
- Understanding of material and labor costs.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Estimating/takeoff software experience is a plus.

- Residential subcontractors
- General contractors serving major home builders
