Construction Estimator Position Summary
Canyon State Enterprises is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, labor and material estimates, and professional bid proposals for commercial construction projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and clients to develop competitive and profitable bids. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to establish a long-term career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities- Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, civil, and shop drawings.
- Review project plans, specifications, addenda, and related bid documents.
- Prepare detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
- Develop professional proposals and bid packages for prospective clients.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Communicate effectively with customers, architects, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and project documentation.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Assist with project turnover meetings and coordination with operations teams.
- Meet estimating deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Previous estimating or construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Dependable, professional, and career-oriented.
- Experience with commercial construction is a plus.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related education is a plus.
