Design Hire is seeking a Health & Safety Technician to promote a safe and compliant work environment on active construction and industrial project sites. This role is ideal for a hands‑on safety professional who can conduct field inspections, enforce safety standards, work directly with contractors, and take immediate corrective action when unsafe conditions are identified.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Monitor contractor activities, identify unsafe behaviors or conditions, and exercise stop‑work authority when necessary to protect personnel and the jobsite.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, safety observations, incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance records.
- Support emergency preparedness by assisting with responses to medical, fire, chemical, or other site‑related incidents and ensuring emergency equipment remains operational.
- Deliver safety orientations, verify contractor training requirements, and reinforce safe work practices through regular field engagement and coaching.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction safety, field safety, or EHS experience.
- OSHA 510 certification required.
- Previous experience supporting semiconductor construction, equipment installation, water/wastewater, industrial construction, or similar technical project environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction regulations, hazard recognition, contractor safety management, and jobsite compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation systems.
