Job Overview
Grand Canyon University Athletics is seeking GCU Athletics Livestream/Broadcast Crew members to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU’s Athletics Department. The purpose of the GCU Athletics Livestream/Broadcast Crew member is to assist with the production of live athletics events for the Athletics Department, including pre‑production, production, and post‑production live streamed events and creative video content.

This position is for those looking for experience in the live/broadcast production field.
This job will require working evenings and weekends. It is fun and exciting, but a lot of hard work.
- Primary role:
Live streaming athletic games and matches - Studio shoots (media days / recruiting shoots)
- Press conferences
- Special events
- Community outreach
- Other miscellaneous athletic needs
- Able to work on expedited timelines
- Organizing and archive management, inputting metadata for video footage
- Serve as a crew member on live athletic productions covering men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball (other sports may be added)
- Operate as camera operators, replay operators, graphics operators, directors/producers, and, with audition, on‑air commentators
- Assist full‑time staff in producing content for social media, video board, broadcast, live streams, and other events
- Produce creative video (highlight videos, long‑form stories, interviews, features, hype videos, promos, and more)
- Assist with pre‑production and planning for live broadcasts and on‑location filming, including scheduling shoots, writing interview questions, and creating live event breakdowns
- Aide in data management and organization of digital assets
- Live event equipment:
Motion Rocket Graphics operation, 3
Play replay operation, Black Magic or Sony cameras - Working knowledge of Sony video cameras and lenses is a plus
- Basic knowledge of editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Final Cut Pro
- Frame.io for video uploads & workflow
- Passion and understanding of sports and sports terminology
- Excellent eye for video, outstanding production skills, deadline‑driven with a sense of urgency
- Basic knowledge of camera operation, including operating a camera at a live event
- Judgment in selection of B‑roll and sound bites
- Ability to work and think quickly in a fast‑paced environment
- Interview skills with a variety of subjects and extracting meaningful information
- Ability to work independently and in a group, be a self‑starter and learn new skills/software
- Creativity in video production is a bonus
- Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA for bachelor level or a 3.0 GPA for master level
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University
- May be subject to termination if below minimum requirements
