News Producer – Multimedia (Telemundo Arizona, Phoenix, AZ)
Responsibilities- Produce the overall news content of the day, including special coverage, in‑depth stories, and other newscast material for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Select, assign, write, and organize stories in the rundown; create headlines, cold opens, teasers, and edit reporter lead‑ins.
- Communicate with newsroom teams, control room staff, and field crews to execute live, fast‑paced shows with live shots and satellite remotes.
- Coordinate and plan community and social story development, and publish content on web, mobile, and social networks.
- Collaborate with fellow producers, the Executive Producer, Managing Editor, and News Director on story and sweep planning, editorial meetings, and talent coaching.
- Provide creative contributions to newscasts, ensuring content meets NBC/Telemundo standards and guidance.
- Complete discrepancy and additional production reports accurately; anticipate, address, and eliminate errors during shifts.
- Respond to breaking news promptly, demonstrating strong time‑management skills.
- Possess skills to shoot, edit, and publish video clips for multiple platforms.
- Understand and represent Latino audience interests in Arizona.
- Lead by example, taking responsibility, taking risks for the team, and being a collaborative team player.
- Fluency in Spanish and English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Minimum of 2years experience as a News Producer.
- Experience with newsroom software, show rundowns, and scripts.
- Excellent news judgment and creative writing skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and breaking news.
- Willingness to work full‑time from a designated NBCUniversal worksite in Phoenix and to travel for special assignments.
- Must have unrestricted U.S. work authorization, be 18years or older, and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Highly collaborative and creative attitude.
- Demonstrable organizational and time‑management skills; ability to perform under tight deadlines.
- Strong interest in innovative video storytelling and strategic thinking around social media.
- Ability to adapt to changing news industry priorities and align with local news leadership vision.
- Highly competitive nature and ability to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
- Position required to be performed full‑time on site at a designated NBCUniversal location.
