Senior Broadcast Operations Technician

KSAZ/KUTP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Technician with 4 – 5+ years of experience in live broadcast operations at an advanced level. This role is a key operational leader responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of newscasts and programming across both Production/Directing and Master Control environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in one core discipline-either live production/directing or Master Control-along with the initiative and adaptability to cross-train and grow across both areas.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining broadcast quality, operational efficiency, and cross-department collaboration with Production, Engineering, and News teams.

Full-time

• 4–5+ years of senior level experience in live broadcast operations
• Strong expertise in either Production/Directing or Master Control, with willingness to cross-train
• Proficiency with automation systems (e.g., Sony ELC) and/or Master Control platforms (e.g., Evertz Mediator or similar)
• Advanced knowledge of control room operations (switcher, audio, robotics) and/or Master Control workflows (play listing, routing, signal monitoring)
• Experience directing streaming productions (e.g., Tricaster) is a plus
• Proven ability to execute complex live broadcasts with accuracy and reliability
• Strong decision‑making skills in high-pressure, on-air environments
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Office)
• Varied shifts, OT, weekends and holidays
