Position Summary
The Student Recording Engineer & Mixer provides recording, editing, and mixing support for Commercial Music student projects, Friday Night Live (FNL) productions, and other events.
Responsibilities- Record, edit, and mix music projects for Commercial Music students.
- Operate recording studio equipment during production projects.
- Prepare recording sessions including microphone setup, signal routing, and session organization .
- Mix live audio for Friday Night Live (FNL) broadcasts and other live productions .
- Maintain studio equipment and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
- Archive and organize recording sessions and project files.
- Support faculty with recording sessions, showcases, and special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience with Pro Tools recording and editing.
- Experience mixing live sound.
- Knowledge of professional recording studio workflows.
- Experience operating digital audio consoles.
- Understanding of microphones, signal flow, and studio acoustics.
- Strong critical listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
