About This Position
The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents and visitors more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserves. The parks feature 41 Trailheads and more than 200 miles of trails, and 182 city parks. Additionally, there are 32 community and recreation centers, classes and sports programs for all ages, 29 pools, eight golf courses, and a variety of specialty and cultural venues and facilities.
The Parks Recreation Coordinator II plans, develops, implements, and evaluates recreation programs at park facilities, community centers for sports, art and culture, enrichment classes, school based after school programs, and/or specialty programs.
The position is assigned to the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department s South Division. The position plans, develops, implements and evaluates recreation programs at park facilities, or community centers for sports, art and culture, enrichment classes, school based after school programs and/or specialty programs. Duties include supervising full and part-time employees and volunteers; communicating and cultivating connections and partnerships with individuals and groups to support department activities;
planning and coordinating special events; maintaining financial and activity records for submittal; and administering department services including internet registration and reservations. An incumbent must be able to work efficiently, effectively and independently and on a team.
Parks Recreation Coordinator II duties include and are not limited to:
- Supervising full and part-time employees and volunteers.

- Maintaining financial and activity records for submittal.
- Administering department services including internet registration and reservations.

- Computer skills including MS Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.), email, web-based registration (ACTIVE software system) and computer-generated flyer design.
SALARY
Pay Range: $62,753.60 - $92,726.40 annually.
Hiring Range: $62,753.60 - $84,094.40 annually.
