Role Description

The Passenger Wheelchair Assistance team member provides safe, courteous, and timely wheelchair support to passengers throughout the airport. This full-time, on-site role in Phoenix, AZ involves escorting passengers to and from gates, ticket counters, baggage claim, and other airport locations, while assisting with boarding and deplaning as needed. The role includes monitoring passenger needs, handling requests with care and discretion, and coordinating with airline and airport staff to ensure smooth transitions.

Team members use company procedures and technology for dispatch, tracking, and documentation of wheelchair services, and follow all safety and security guidelines. The position requires consistent face-to-face interaction, clear communication, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally with passengers, airline staff, and team members.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to follow procedures, adapt to changing situations, and make sound decisions in a busy airport setting.
  • Candidates should possess basic Sales and Finance awareness when handling any service-related inquiries, upgrades, or simple transaction-related tasks, as applicable.
  • Ability to safely assist passengers in wheelchairs, including pushing, maneuvering, and managing ramps, elevators, and long walking distances.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in an airport, hospitality, healthcare, or customer service environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, meet airport security clearance requirements, and comply with all safety regulations.
