About the Role
Based in our Phoenix office, you will join a team serving clients in purpose‑built environments for workplace‑focused interiors work. As a Gensler Project Architect, your creativity and technical acumen will author engaging human experiences in the built environment, evolving toward a leadership role guiding clients to design solutions.
What You Will Do- Engage directly with senior design leadership and design teams from early development through the construction documentation phases
- Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
- Manage project team and coordination of consultants
- Produce BIM models and construction drawings
- Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions
- Provide mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members
- Participate in office culture and initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school. Licensure required.
- 10+ years of experience as a project architect, with a strong background in workplace interiors
- Experience working with Revit is required
- Proficiency with Sketch Up, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required
- Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Effective communicator, collaborative and team‑conscious
- Experience working directly with contractors
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment
- Experience resolving complex technical and design issues
- Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions
- Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done
- Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
- Previous experience in sustainable design projects is preferable
- Built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and/or Net Zero Building certification is desired
