Job Description

The Architectural Business Leader serves as the pivotal architect and strategic driver for data center and high technology market initiatives. This hands-on leadership role demands deep technical expertise in data center architecture combined with robust business acumen to deliver scalable, high-performance designs aligned with industry expectations. The leader will direct architectural strategy, oversee resource allocation, and ensure alignment with project budgets and schedules while collaborating with project managers, discipline leads, external engineering partners, contractors, and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

+ Define and implement comprehensive business strategies to expand leadership footprint within data center and high-tech sectors.

+ Lead cross-functional resource planning and allocation for data center architecture projects, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel.

+ Function as the subject matter expert in data center design principles, staying current with evolving standards and security design best practices.

+ Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to develop integrated design solutions addressing complex challenges related to facility design.

+ Oversee and mentor architectural and project management teams on best practices for data center design and delivery.

+ Lead development and review of detailed architectural design packages, including site visits and client-facing technical reviews.

+ Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and mentorship programs focusing on data center technologies and sustainable design.

+ Spearhead competitive pricing strategy formulation to enhance bid-to-win ratios and ensure profitability.

+ Participate in proposal development, providing technical due diligence and resource estimation.

+ Support regional market expansion initiatives by engaging local industry partners and identifying opportunities to showcase innovation in architectural design.

+ Maintain an up-to-date network of industry contacts to promote as a trusted expert in data center architectural solutions.

Essential Skills

+ Licensed Architect with responsible charge experience in data center and mission-critical facility projects.

+ Minimum 10 years of progressive architectural experience with a strong focus on data center technology projects.

+ Proficient working knowledge of data center design standards and codes.

+ Experience developing and reviewing detailed architectural plans, specifications, and BIM models.

+ Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with C-suite clients and project teams.

+ Direct experience supporting regional or national expansion initiatives in the data center market.

+ Hands-on experience leading multi-phase project delivery from pre-design through construction administration.

+ Knowledge of sustainability and resilience standards relevant to data centers, such as LEED High-Tech credits.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.

+ Experience working on mission-critical and data center projects.

+ Proficient in Revit and project management.

+ Ability to apply quantitative cost modeling and risk analyses during proposal development.

Work Environment

The position offers a flexible work environment, with 2-3 days on-site in the Scottsdale office. The role requires client meetings and site walks throughout the week, with typical hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. The position reports directly to a Division Manager and has a dotted line reporting to the data center operations team. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
