Digital Building Components (DBC), part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a skilled and passionate Architect to join our growing team. The architect will lead our architectural team and oversee the design and deliverables for our prefabricated building systems.
Responsibilities- Lead the architectural team and manage project architectural design and coordination with internal and external teams.
- Produce architectural team project budgets and schedules.
- Manage design coordination with rainscreen subcontractors and support sales and estimating with project pursuits and client relationships.
- Lead the panelization, design, and detailing of the X‑Series exterior wall panel product line.
- Review and coordinate team deliverables including shop drawings, fabrication details, and façade model coordination.
- Review project specifications related to finishes, fire rating, sound ratings, waterproofing, and thermal requirements to ensure alignment with Digital Building’s design and details.
- Produce finished panel shop drawings and details for fabrication and develop standard details for each exterior wall panel finish type.
- Coordinate with and support other teams within Digital Building from sales through installation.
- Lead architectural scope for prototypes and project mockups.
- Drive architectural team efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Research and understand applicable building and energy codes; lead compliance with LEED and Living Building Standards.
- Support HCAI submission for California healthcare projects.
- Graduate degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s) or equivalent professional experience of 5+ years as an architectural designer.
- Architectural license is preferred but not required.
- Solid understanding of IBC Chapter 14.
- Experience with interior and exterior wall sound (STC/IIC), fire ratings, waterproofing, and thermal R values.
- Experience designing and detailing with EIFS and rainscreen systems.
- Experience designing in high seismic areas and understanding of HCAI.
- Proficient with Revit, Bluebeam, BIM
360/ACC, Navisworks, Procore, Smartsheet, Box, and Excel. - Strong communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think creatively within the constraints of prefabricated design.
- Passion for efficiencies, cost savings, and continuous improvement.
- Prefabrication and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times if needed.
