Division Chief, Interventional Radiology (MD) (College of Medicine - Phoenix)

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix is seeking an outstanding academic physician to serve as chief of the Division of Interventional Radiology in the Department of Radiology. The appointed faculty member, at the associate or full professor level, will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the division’s clinical, educational, research, and programmatic missions. The role includes recruiting faculty, expanding clinical programs, evolving clinical investigations, and developing a graduate medical education (GME) training program in partnership with Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.

Responsibilities
  • Provide faculty development and support.
  • Recruit and retain faculty and staff.
  • Oversee educational and training programs, including residency.
  • Drive research growth and program innovation.
  • Build novel clinical programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent accredited degree.
  • Eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at the associate professor level or higher.
  • Board certified in Interventional Radiology.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
  • Greater than 6 years of progressively complex administrative experience in an academic medical center setting.
  • Demonstrated national distinction in teaching, clinical care, and research discovery in an academic department or comparable environment.
  • Commitment to service‑oriented, team‑based patient care across disciplines.
  • Track record of faculty, trainee, and student recruitment and development.
  • Evidence of successful program building.
  • Eligible for medical staff membership at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional health profession degree (e.g., PhD, MPH, MS).
  • Experience developing and implementing new academic, educational, patient care, or research programs.
  • Ability to collaborate with private practice community for program development and patient care.
  • Leadership experience in Interventional Radiology.
  • Past or ongoing clinical research funding with significant scientific impact.
  • National distinction through service on NIH study sections or national committee leadership in the Society of Interventional Radiology or similar societies.
